Origins, Genetics, History
Lemon Kush Type: Lemon Kush is a hybrid of the following strains:
- Master Kush
- Lemon Joy
Lemon Kush’s parents are Lemon Joy and Master Kush. This creates a hybrid which is half Indica and half Sativa. Alternative breeders, the famous Alien Genetics, may have used an Afghan Kush and Lemon G as parents instead. The result, in either case, is a Kush which smells of the natural earthy Hindu Kush mountain fauna with a potent dose of a terpene called limonene because it smells like lemons. This is a Kush you don’t carry around in your pocket because you will smell strongly of lemon weed. You need an air-tight case.
Appearance and Smell
The hallmark of Lemon Kush is its fruity, lemon fragrance produced by terpenes including limonene. Lemon Kush is an easy to grow, medium height plant, growing between 30 and 80 inches tall. The buds are a yellow-green color, blanketed in reflective trichomes boasting high levels of THC, as high as 26%. Buds are tight and compact little nuggets stuffed with cannabinoids and terpenes. The smoke is herbal, sweet, and gives a natural, outdoorsy feeling. This is truly a product of nature, not a Franken-weed with glyphosate resistance.
How to Grow Lemon Kush Cannabis Seeds or Cuttings
Growing weed from Lemon Kush cannabis seeds is said to be easy as cake. You will need basic gardening skill and a mild, Mediterranean or California. It’s no wonder those places are the hotspots of history, they have excellent weather. A human could live there without clothing or shelter year-round and not die of exposure. A plant can also thrive in such favorable conditions. But Lemon Kush is not as fragile as a human being. It’s a hearty, strong plant and will grow in many locations. Outdoors, the harvest will be from mid-September to mid-October.
Indoors, you can use a set-up of 5-gallon pots and high-intensity lamps with a mix of soil and nutrients or if you wanna be fancy, try a hydroponic set up for greater yields. It will be ready to be induced to flower in 9 or 10 weeks. You will get a yield of about 18 ounces per meter squared.

Recently I decided to have a relaxing and nice weekend after weeks of hard work with my best friend so we went to the dispensary and returned home with 1/4 of Lemon Kush without knowing how this day would end up. Once I got sedative at hospital so I know what it feels like. And this strain is like the same. My body and my mind were slowed down, hardly feeling anything but happiness and desire to giggle at first. As time passed it slowly transformed into a heavy couch-lock that reminds being very drunk. Like the signals that your mind sends to your limbs can't find the right way. Ketamine has a simar effect. We could expect it from those nugs with a bigger amount of trichomes than usual and rusty, very sticky hairs. The smell was very pungent with lemon hints. We've been toking from the morning (around 9am) till now, 7pm. I took only 10 bong rips and they had me high all day long. Not just high, but also relaxed, calm, creative, free of stress and pain. With twitches and muscle spasms, but it's ok. Also got light munchies. The potence and quality of this strain had me shook, I needed so little to get so stoned. After I finish what's left, will definitely buy some more.
~First impression~ Lemons. All you can think about when you open the plastic bag (and even before) with these buds are lemons. It has a strong scent of lemons, it tastes like lemons with lemon hints and the aftertaste of... you won't believe, LEMONS! So, you get it. These nugs are super dense and tightly compact. It feels like you swapp your roles... You don't smoke that weed, it smokes you! The high is very mellow and extremely strong, it's better to smoke it slowly.
~Medication~ It's has a great sedative effect on your back muscles, but isn't really felt below the waist and motor coordination is not affected at all, as compared to some strains that make it hard to stand up off the couch. I suffer from irritable bowel syndrome and the pain was completely gone.
~Effects~ it starts off tingling in your spinal column and the nearest muscles. As you don't feel any pain, it makes your body light, relaxed and floaty. Here's what happens to you as you smoke more and more: at first you lose connection with reality and delve deep into something like spiritual world, then comes partial couch-lock until you take another hit and space out completely. Not a productive strain, but great for spending day with Netflix.
