History, Genetics, Origins
Vanilla Frosting plants have genetics which are 65 percent Indica and 35 percent Sativa. THC levels can rise to 25 %. Its parents are:
- Gelato bx3
- Frost OG
It is bred by Humbolt Seed Co.
Appearance and Smell
Vanilla Frosting cannabis is a tall plant, growing over 8 feet like Shaq. The nuggets are a grainy Indica. Its name Vanilla Frosting comes from the fact that the green buds and orange pistils are drowned out by the wealth of THC- filled, frosty trichomes. This can be used to make kief, shatter, dabs, and other forms of concentrated THC used by serious users.
The smell and taste is of vanilla, candy, earth, spice, gas, and cake. The smoke is not harsh. It will blow your socks off with a strong punch of THC.
How to Grow Vanilla Frosting Cannabis Seeds or Cuttings
Growing weed from Vanilla Frosting cannabis seeds or cuttings is gonna take some expertise but anyone can do it. Let’s see if we can get greater yields using a screen of green method, aka SCROG.
Screen of Green
Today we’re gonna learn about the screen of green method. As a disclaimer, this method is best for long, lanky Sativas but let’s see if we can maximize these short Indicas. You will have to put the screen somewhat lower than described likely to train shorter plants.
With the SCROG method you’re gonna train a girl up in the way she should go. You will get a healthier plant. You can protect your plants from disease. Screen of green is gonna give you a thick canopy of leaf and bud.
Screen of green is gonna weave your plants through a horizontal wire mesh rather than allowing them to grow tall. You will be able to get greater yield in less vertical space.
You can maximize light exposure by having your lamps right above your canopy where your plants will be trained to weave though.
The horizontal set up will allow airflow to go across the canopy preventing the development of fungal or bacterial growth on your plants.
Screen of green can maximize indoor space and give you a greater yield even if growing somewhat covertly in the privacy of your own home.
You are going to place your screen about 20cm above the plants you will train to weave through the screen. The screen can be made of hemp rope or other line that is not harsh on the plant. Once your plant grows 5 cm above the screen you are ready to tuck it under the wire into your next cubby hole. You will do this all throughout your vegetative state. When you are ready to induce flowering, give your plants 12 hours of dark and 12 hours of light so that your buds flower.
This is a method you can use to get your weed faster and possibly a higher yield if you have the space for it. Plants will vegetate for about two weeks using this method. Sea of green is abbreviated SOG, and you will see dollar signs, the real greenie green if you do this right.
Choose flower pots with good aeration such as fabric pots.
You can grow up to 4 plants per square meter and train them through your horizontal layer and let the buds grow vertically from the trained horizontal stems as in the picture above
What you need
- String. Hemp string is great but what you get at your gardening center will work. Just don’t get anything that’s gonna cut your precious plants.
- Frame to attach your string to and enclose your growing space.
- Pots. You can use several fabric pots or a big pot such as in the picture above. Your choice.
Top it off: Once you get about 5 branches coming off the main stem, snip the top to force it to create more branches so you get more stem to train through your screen and eventually more buds.
As your plants vegetate, move your screen up 20 to 40 cm. Keep your lights focused over the entire screen.
Direct your branches through the wire mesh as they grow.
Once you induce flowering you can get yield above the 6 ounces per plant produced by other methods or at least 6 ounces in less space.
Medicinal Marijuana Review / Long-Covid
Vanilla Frosting cannabis plants are 65 percent Indica and 35 percent Sativa. THC levels can be up to 24 %.
As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, some people are presenting with a syndrome wherein for months or possibly years, they have lingering symptoms. This condition is referred to as Long-Covid, because the symptoms are persisting for a long time. These symptoms may be dissimilar to the flu-like symptoms characteristic of COVID-19.
Long Covid can present with symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, strange smells or loss of ability to smell, weak muscles, and fever. Some patients develop Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome which can make standing up a chore. This disease can cause dizziness upon standing. It can harm any organ system. Sequelae may include:
- cardiovascular disorders
- gastrointestinal disorders
- mental health disorders
- metabolic disorders
- musculoskeletal pain
- nervous system and neurocognitive disorders
- respiratory system disorders
It may affect as much as 10 percent of people who get SARS-2-COV2 and last for 3 weeks to years.
There are several proposed causes with lingering immune system dysfunction being the most prominent.
- damage to renin-angiotensin system
- immune dysfunction
- Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)
- physical deconditioning due to tiredness
- post-intensive care syndrome
- post-traumatic stress
- vascular injury from virus
- virus damage to the lungs
Medical Marijuana has been used in a similar syndrome Me/CFS in patients who can tolerate it. They use it to treat pain and fatigue. There are as yet no studies that can tell you whether medical marijuana can treat LONG-COVID. That means if you are affected and have access to marijuana where legal, you can try it and report back to your doctor to spread the word on whether you have found it helpful or not.

Vanilla Frosting is a delicious toke. It smells of creamy vanilla and goes down very easily. You can get strains with as low as 17 % THC and strains as high as 25 %. The initial toke will just give you a mouth full of flavor. Then the high will sneak up on you so don’t be 20 puffs deep or you will have miscalculated your dose and may feel a bit anxious. Even if that happens though, you will soon be incredibly calm and content. Happy toking!
