Green Mountain CBD Review
Our Rating: B. Simple product line sourced from organic hemp with verified levels of CBD.
Featured on both NPR and VPR radio stations, Green Mountain CBD has a more straightforward and minimalistic approach to their line of products than most other companies offering CBD oil. The product range is relatively small, but of the highest quality, they can produce. Products include CBD oil, capsules, and a unique edible salve. Located in Hardwick, Vermont, Green Mountain’s hemp plants are grown in a harsher environment and end up stronger than the average plant. Because of their commitment to creating high-quality products, Green Mountain makes its full-spectrum CBD oil with organic coconut oil in a process called lipid extraction. The oil is tested in both an on-site lab, as well as an independent third-party lab to ensure the highest quality product. After quality and concentration have been verified, all CBD oil products are processed and filled using pharmaceutical grade equipment. Green Mountain achieves an “entourage effect” through using a whole plant extract. Not only is Green Mountain committed to creating the highest quality products by avoiding ethanol, harsh chemicals, and CO2, but it also takes an ethical approach when it comes to both cost and practices, two important factors rarely referenced or embraced by similar companies.

From our grading questions above and our research, Green Mountain CBD products get B. We are unsure of the efficacy of oil extraction versus CO2 extraction; however, oil extraction is typical for making cannabutter so it can indeed work and they have the labs to prove it. Also, this is a very young company. Time will tell how they will perform or if they will improve or grow their product line.
Advantages of Green Mountain CBD Oil
The number one advantage of Green Mountain CBD’s product line is its simplicity. There aren’t many options to choose from, so it’s easy to make a great choice from the start. Green Mountain CBD oil has a guaranteed level of CBD, verified by both in-house and third-party testing. Each 60ml bottle of Chocolate Mint CBD oil contains 600mg CBD or 10mg of CBD per ml. Because of differences indigestion, the high-quality coconut-sourced MCT oil (medium-chain-triglycerides) allows a quicker absorption than lower quality monounsaturated and polyunsaturated lipids like olive oil or soy oil. There aren’t many options for flavor choice. In fact, the only flavor offered: Chocolate Mint, however, both CBD capsules and edible salve provide an option for those who aren’t really looking for a novel flavor and want a straightforward source of CBD.
The CBD capsules contain 20 mg CBD per capsule, or a total of 600mg – 1,800mg per bottle, depending on the capsule count. There isn’t much to say in terms of flavor or presentation, but the important fact is that these levels are again verified by third-party testing.
Green Mountain CBD’s edible salve is a great option for anyone who wants to integrate CBD into cooking. It can be directly spread onto something like toast or used as a replacement for coconut oil or butter in recipes. The CBD-rich salve contains 20mg of CBD hemp extract per 1ml of oil. This is not to be confused with CBD. The wording is intentionally misleading which is a big no-no for CBD companies. Hemp extract is hemp extract. CBD is CBD. There is no such thing as CBD hemp extract.
This lab available on the Green Mountain site shows sufficient CBD levels for their Chocolate Mint Oil. It also shows terpene content and a lack of pesticides, mold, and yeast.

Green Mountain CBD Oil reviews
Review Rating: A. “my speech is significantly better…”
This Facebook user feels like CBD actually helps with his stuttering problem. Although this is not known from the literature, we will file it under plausible.
Review Rating: B. “after-dinner treat…”
This Facebook user uses Green Mountain oil to treat his dog by adding it to food.
Review Rating: A. Great review, but may be fake.
This Reddit user is excited about Green Mountain CBD, but maybe too excited, like maybe she’s being paid to say this. Further down she says it helps her benzo withdrawal so it’s possible she’s being honest since most people don’t want to admit to abusing benzos. But, it looks fake and has two links to the Green Mountain website
Review Rating: A. “really really good.”
This Reddit user likes the mint flavor oil, especially the taste.
Q&A about Green Mountain CBD
You should refrigerate the capsules. You can freeze capsules or oil if storing for an extended period. The oil will melt at temperatures above 74 degrees.
Yes, just be sure to check with your vet to avoid drug interactions with CBD because it can alter liver metabolism.
It is all-natural coconut oil infused with hemp. Thus, it is like coconut butter with a green tinge below 74 degrees and a green liquid oil above that temperature.
There is no known overdose for CBD. As always, check the other ingredients in any product for which you may accidentally use more than recommended.
Green Mountain CBD products contain no CBD and will not affect your working ability. It will reduce pain and anxiety which may improve working ability.
You should consult your doctor to eliminate drug interactions. There have not been many reports of adverse drug interactions with CBD.
No, that is the CBD contents of the entire bottle. Green Mountain CBD oil has about 10 mg of CBD per 1 mL dropper.
CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, one among as many as 125 identified cannabinoids in industrial hemp.CBD is not pot, marijuana, hash, weed, or cannabis sativa. Green Mountain’s CBD products contain no psychoactive THC, only small amounts of therapeutic THC, with large amounts of therapeutic CBD. Marijuana usually contains THC which is psychoactive, CBD does not.
Hemp oil may contain over 125 cannabinoids, including:
- THC (tetrahydrocannabinol)
- THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin)
- THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid)
- CBV (cannabivarin)
- CBT (cannabicitran)
- CBN (cannabinol)

- CBGV (cannabigerovarin)
- CBL (cannabicyclol)
- CBD (cannabidiol)
- CBCV (cannabichromevarin)
- CBC (cannabichromene)
Yes, with some caveats. CBD and CBDa are legal in most states of the United States as long as it comes along with no more than 0.3% THC. CBD all by itself is pretty much legal everywhere. However, you could still run into legal problems if you have a cop or court which is hell-bent on charging people with violation of marijuana laws or even laws about where you can buy non-psychoactive hemp. This is rare but has happened on occasion.CBD is legal in many countries, including:

Hemp has been around for at least 12,000 years.
CBD binds to receptors in the central nervous system including endocannabinoid receptors which help modulate the levels of monoamines, perceptions of pleasure and pain, and mood.
No, and no.
No. Unfortunately, we have not been able to locate 3rd partly labs.
CBD means cannabidiol. It is a single cannabinoid, the second most abundant in marijuana and the most abundant in low THC hemp. Hemp oil is hemp seed oil. It contains healthy fatty acids, but only very low levels of CBD. Hemp extract is hemp oil extracted from the whole plant, standardized for levels of CBD. Unscrupulous companies will try to confuse consumers, passing off hemp seed oil as CBD. Green Mountain CBD is a proprietary form of cannabidiol created using nanotechnology.
Conclusion
Grade: B
Green Mountain’s product looks pretty good; however, there are a few negatives. Namely, their limited product line and the youth of the company. Of course, a limited, focused product line is also a plus. It allows the company to make only a handful of things well, rather than making a lot of things badly. However, that doesn’t explain why the edible salve does not have high levels of CBD but instead has ‘CBD hemp extract’. That kind of wording is made to confuse. Really, it’s cannabutter with hemp extract which does not have high levels of CBD, otherwise, they would have put the amount of CBD as they have with the other products. When they do things like this, it makes it harder to trust that they have verified levels of CBD in the other products. If you have a good product, don’t confuse people by using slick wording. Hemp extract is hemp extract, not ‘CBD hemp extract’. No one is fooled by that anymore. Hemp seeds and whole plants have low levels of CBD but it must be extracted and concentrated to make enough CBD be therapeutic. It doesn’t appear they have done this with the edible salve and they only have 3 products to concentrate on.
Also, this is a very young company. They started only in 2016, how many growing seasons is that? Alejandro Bergad is the CEO and Jacob Goldstein the president. Alejandro has a year’s experience as Chief Agricultural Officer at a large hemp farm and the site calls him a farmer. Jacob Goldstein had a painting business. It’s not clear that these two are farmers or scientists and the site does not introduce us to the scientists and farmers behind these products. Also, it can take a few years to get the best possible crop, but to their credit, the labs do show a high level of CBD and terpenes. It’s just, consumers have the option of buying from more established providers. On the other hand, Green Mountain appears to provide its verified levels of CBD at a lower price than some other companies. But, $30, that’s still a chunk of change for a product from a new company. How much would it cost to get the same thing from Elixinol, a well-established, international hemp company? Overall, if you find the prices cheaper, try it and let us know how it goes. Avoid the salve, it does not list the CBD content.
